Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Microblading and Nano brows?
Microblading is a manual technique that uses a tiny blade to create crisp, fine hair strokes. It heals as a very soft and subtle enhancement. Nano Brows are created using a hand held tattoo machine and an ultra thin needle to produce soft, delicate strokes that can be built up for added fullness. Microblading heals like delicate pen strokes, while Nano heals more like soft pencil strokes with a slightly fluffier finish. Both techniques create natural results and the best choice depends on your individual features and goals.
Which technique should I choose?
The right technique depends on your natural brow hair, skin type and the look you want to achieve. Microblading is usually best for normal to dry skin and for clients who have fine or moderate natural brow hairs. It works beautifully when you already have good brow growth and simply want soft structure or a subtle enhancement. Nano Brows are often the better option if you have coarse or dark hair, any areas of sparseness, or if your skin is oily, sensitive, or mature. The machine method allows for soft, buildable strokes that blend seamlessly with the natural hair and tend to heal more evenly on most skin types. If you are unsure, I will always guide you during your consultation so that you choose the technique that will look the most natural and flattering once healed.
Can I choose my brow shape?
How do the brows heal?
Immediately after treatment the brows appear more defined and slightly darker than the final result. As the skin heals, the strokes begin to soften and the colour gradually settles into a more natural tone. Around the two week mark the brows may look lighter as the skin renews itself, then the true colour slowly returns. Healed brows always look softer, lighter, and more diffused than they do on the first day. This is intentional, as it creates a natural finish that blends seamlessly with your real hairs. A top up is scheduled to perfect the shape and depth once the initial healing has fully matured.
How long will my results last?
Brow tattooing is designed to fade gradually and naturally over time. Most clients enjoy their results for around one to three years depending on their skin type, lifestyle and chosen technique. Nano brows tend to last slightly longer on oilier skin compared with microblading, as the machine method implants the pigment more evenly. Colour will soften year by year and a refresh can be done when the pigment has faded by at least 50%. The goal is to maintain a natural look rather than a permanent one, allowing the shape and colour to be refined as your features evolve.
How long after laser removal can I have my brows redone?
If you have removal with Naama Studios you can have your treatment as soon as 6 weeks after treatment. This is due to their gentle lasers which cause minimal trauma to the skin allowing for very quick healing.
What pigment and tools are used?
Jade uses the highest quality blades and nano needles to create remarkably fine strokes and ultra soft pixels, resulting in a natural, hyper realistic finish. A curated range of premium pigments are available, all designed to fade softly and true to tone. Your ideal shade and technique will be chosen during your appointment to suit your features and preferences.
Can the lower eye liner be tattooed?
Although this can be done Jade doesn’t offer this as a treatment option. As the eyeliner can only be tattooed onto the skin and not on the inner part of the eye where we often wear makeup, it can sometimes create an unflattering result. If Jade deems the client suitable a few sutble dots can be added to look like hair follicules but never a heavy thick line.
Can I choose my Lip Blush colour?
Yes! You can choose the colour you would like for your lip blush, but we will keep in mind the natural lip and skin tone and Jade will advise you to make sure the chosen pigment is going to be flattering. With darker, cooler lip tones a neutralisation will need to be done first.
How will I look while healing from Lip Blush?
Directly after treatment the colour will be bright and you may have some swelling and tenderness on the lips. The next day the swelling will start to subside, the colour will be dark and dryness will start. Days 3-4 the lips will scab and peel and day 5-6 the lips will start to get lighter. Day 7-10 you will be at the ghosting stage where the colour goes very light. The true colour will settle after about a month.
Can Lip Blush make my lips look bigger?
Yes, Lip Blush can create the illusion of fuller, more shapely lips. We will never overline onto the skin itself, but if areas of the lip tissue are pale or undefined, we can restore colour. This is an excellent way to achieve a naturally enhanced look without the need for fillers.
Can I have dermal fillers and Lip Blush?
If you have not yet started your Lip Blush journey, please wait until your treatment is complete before getting fillers. If you have already had fillers in your lips, you can still undergo the Lip Blush treatment; however, please avoid any top-ups before your appointment.
Who can have SMP?
SMP is effective for individuals of any age, gender, or ethnicity. Whether your hair is long or short, we can always enhance its appearance, giving it a look of thickness and vitality. A healthy-looking hairline can provide a sense of freedom for those who struggle with insecurities related to hair loss.
What if I need an additional top up?
Rarely some clients may feel they would like an additional top up for microblading or cosmetic tattooing. There can be a number of reasons why an additional top up may be required including aftercare, general skin conditions or if you would like to enhance your treatment. This will be offered at a charge depending how much work is needed.
Do the treatments hurt?
Our technique is very gentle and most clients report little to no pain. Numbing agents are used during the treatments so the clients can feel at ease, some people have even fallen asleep!
Will I be sore after treatment?
Most people say they feel fine after treatment. The area may feel a little tight and sensitive to touch but not painful.
How Long do the results last?
Cosmetic tattooing can last several years but this is dependant on many factors including skin type, sun exposure and lifestyle. Check the specific treatment information pages more more details.
Do I need a Patch test?
A patch test is not mandatory; however, if you have concerns about allergies, your skin type, or any medical issues, we recommend scheduling a patch test beforehand. Please inform Jade of this when booking your appointment.
Do I need to book a consultation?
On the day of your treatment, you will receive a comprehensive consultation to discuss your specific needs and goals. If you prefer to have a consultation beforehand, we offer the option to connect via email, phone call, or in person. Just send us a message, and we’ll be happy to schedule a time that works for you.
Can I expose my treatment area to the sun?
Please wait at least 4 weeks after treatment before engaging in sunny holidays or using sunbeds. It is recommended to apply SPF 50 sunscreen to the treated area when exposed to sunlight in the future
When is the top up appointment?
Your inclusive top up appointment should be booked within 4-8 weeks of your initial treatment and takes about 45 minutes. This will be schedulled by Jade on the day of your appointment. Please note if this is not booked within the timeframes you will have missed out on the free treatment and it will come at a charge. Please keep in mind the diary can get very busy and it is your responsibly to ensure you have booked your top up.
Who is a good candidate for treatment?
Most clients are suitable for treatments, although the best results come when the skin is healthy and free from irritation. There are a few situations where treatment is not advised. Treatment cannot be done during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. It is also important to postpone treatment if you have any active skin conditions in the brow area such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, open wounds, or recent sunburn. Clients who have had recent chemical peels, strong retinol use, or intense exfoliating treatments may need to wait until the skin has fully settled. Certain medications and medical conditions can also affect suitability, and a history of keloid scarring would need to be discussed before booking.
