Microblading is a new and updated semi-permanent technique for enhancing the appearance of the eyebrows, in which pigment is gently scratched into the skin in fine, short strokes resembling hair and giving the illusion of fuller brows.
The procedure takes around 1.5-2 hours. After a consultation to go through the process and discuss exactly what you are hoping for, we will mark out your brow shape for your approval and then start your brow enhancement. Your top up appointment will be scheduled at the end of the treatment.
Your inclusive top up appointment should be booked within 4-6 weeks of your initial treatment and takes about 45 minutes. If this is not booked within the timeframes you will have missed out on the free treatment and it will come at a charge. Please keep in mind the diary can get very busy and it is your responsibly to ensure you have booked your top up.
The effects can last 1-2 years, depending on skin type, products and lifestyle, after which the pigment fades leaving the skin and brows as they were before. Once both your treatment and top up appointment are complete you can re book anywhere between 3 months and two years. It all comes down to your personal preference when you feel a top up is needed.
Certain skin types may find it harder to retain the pigment, including oily skin and those with large pores. These may require a third top up at a small additional cost. Darker complexions will have a softer result where as lighter completions will show the hair strokes more easily.
Unlike having a tattoo, microblading is gentler and much less invasive. We start by lightly scratching the surface of the skin, then anaesthetic is applied which is absorbed by the scratches making them completely numb so that I can go deeper over these fine lines pain free. For the majority of the treatment you won’t feel much, some people have even fallen asleep!
The eyebrows generally take about 2 weeks to heal.
During and after the treatment temporary redness may occur. Depending on the skin structure after the first treatment, small scabs sometimes occur with loss of pigment along the drawn strokes and colour intensity may change. In the first 7 days eyebrows are up to 40% darker and 10-15% thicker but will gradually fade to a soft natural result. For some people, the brows will seemingly disappear, but will start to develop again throughout the next few weeks. The final result is not fully seen until 6 weeks after your top up appointment.
The shape of the eyebrows is calculated according to the morphology of the face, using both a hand-held measuring device and a digital symmetry app. Using the golden ratio, the most flattering shape for your face will be marked out. Of course your preferences will be taken into consideration and we will work towards whatever look it is you prefer, whether a maintained brow or a more fluffy result. The colour will always be chosen to match your natural brow hair for an undetectable finish. Together we will create the perfect look for you!
We use a sterile disposable hand-held tool for the application of your treatment to ensure maximum safety. We use only the very best Phi Super formula (only available to Phi Artists) which is proven to be the most stable pigments in the world with no blurring under the skin once healed and no red trace when fading, as they do not contain iron oxide.
Please refrain from plucking threading or tinting your brows before your microblading appointment. I will need to see exactly what we have to work with before creating your optimum brow shape.
If you are pregnant or breast feeding you will need to wait until you are finished breast feeding to allow your hormones to settle down as this can affect the healed result.
If you have oily skin or work outdoors be repaired to require more frequent top ups as the pigment can fade quicker.
If you are on medication or have had any cosmetic or medical procedures in the last year, you will need to inform us prior to booking.
